A Song For Mommy From Daniel

How mommy took this song literally when pregnant with you and how it makes sense now!

I heard this song on the radio on my way to one of my last OB appointments. My c-section was scheduled just a couple more weeks and I couldn’t believe that soon it would be time to meet my baby, Daniel. I was very happy as I was approaching the Dr’s office and the hospital which was on the same busy street. I paid attention to the song on the radio and for some reason I took it literally. As it was playing “I’m going home” and I thought yes, you are coming home. Then when the song said, “but these faces and these places are getting old”, I got confused. As I thought, well he can not be tired of places and faces yet because he is in my belly. I thought, the only way places and faces would be getting old would be if he was going home to heaven instead. But I tried to forget about it and continued my way to the doctor.

Now the song makes more sense, even though it is not about death. I believe that something was trying to tell me something that day I was listening to the song while being pregnant with my angel, Daniel.

Chris Daughtry Home Lyrics:

I'm staring out into the night,

Trying to hide the pain.

I'm going to the place where love

And feeling good don't ever cost a thing.

And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.

So I'm going home,

Back to the place where I belong,

And where your love has always been enough for me.

I'm not running from.

No, I think you got me all wrong.

I don't regret this life I chose for me.

But these places and these faces are getting old

So I'm going home.

Well I'm going home.

The miles are getting longer, it seems,

The closer I get to you.

I've not always been the best man or friend for you.

But your love, remains true.

And I don't know why.

You always seem to give me another try.

So I'm going home,

To the place where I belong,

And where your love has always been enough for me.

I'm not running from.

No, I think you got me all wrong.

I don't regret this life I chose for me.

But these places and these faces are getting old.

Be careful what you wish for,

'Cause you just might get it all.

You just might get it all,

And then some you don't want.

Be careful what you wish for,

'Cause you just might get it all.

You just might get it all, yeah.

So I'm going home,

Back to the place where I belong,

And where your love has always been enough for me.

I'm not running from.

No, I think you got me all wrong.

I don't regret this life I chose for me.

But these places and these faces are getting old.

I said these places and these faces are getting old.

So I'm going home.

I'm going home.
